Do American people commonly play poker games, like bridge?

I'm a bit curious what poker games do you play. By the way, do a lot of people play bridge game? I like bridge but one of my friends suggests me that this game may not be very welcomed.

Well, Bridge is not a common card game to play when you're doing poker. Some games you may find interesting are games like Texas Hold Em, Rummy, or Gin. Bridge is not common but I have heard of it before.

Bridge is popular in the USA (currently 160,000+ registered members), though its popularity has waned since its heyday until the 70s. There is a misconception that bridge is a gambling game. Very little bridge is played directly for money these days. Don't bother with poker - bridge is far more interesting (I am biased - I teach, compete and coach it for a living).
