Most people accept the religion of their parents but while all religions claim to offer reliable guidance about serving God, their ideas differ. So how can we learn the truth about God?

Do All Religions Teach the Truth?
While all religions claim to offer reliable guidance about serving God, their ideas differ. They teach many different things about who God is and what he expects of us.
On one occasion Jesus Christ was resting by a fountain and had a conversation with a Samaritan woman. He said to her: “God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.” (John 4:24) These words show that there is a form of worship acceptable to God. For our worship to be rendered with truth, it must harmonize with what God has revealed about himself in the Bible. God’s Word contains the truth.—John 17:17.
The apostle Paul foretold a time when some professing to be Christians would apostatize from the true faith, not wanting to hear the truth of God’s Word, but desiring to have their ears “tickled” by things pleasing to them, and would therefore listen to false teachers. (2Ti 4:3, 4; 1Ti 4:1)
The Bible teaches that there are two types of religion—true religion and false religion. False religion does not teach the truth about God. Nevertheless, Jehovah God wants people to know the truth about him.—Read 1 Timothy 2:3-5.
Absolutely! Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! Rev. 22:20
Religion is made up by men telling each other what to do. Most do not offer "guidance about serving God", and those that do certainly are not reliable. It is not reliable to ask people to tell you what the bible says. Many people will make up stuff because they don't know what it says, and many will make up stuff because they wish it would not say what it says. You just have to read it for yourself. Read a chapter of Proverbs every day. Proverbs has 31 chapters so you can keep your place by just looking at a calendar. There is no religion or nothing in Proverbs and you don't have to believe anything. Just read every day. When you are comfortable with that, then read the bible from Romans to 2 Thessalonians over and over until you start to remember what it says. That is the part that applies to Christians. Here is a book to help you to understand the bible. It's a free download and you can get a hard copy at any bible book store.

All religions teach some truth mingled with the philosophies of men. In order ro find a religion that teaches the complete truth, you must find a religion led by a living prophet who actually talks to God. Today, many say that we have the Bible and that we no longer need revelations from God. This could not be farther from the truth. We are no more righteous nor do we have more knowledge than those people who live in Biblical times. Communication with God is a manifestation of our faith. If someone says we don't need revelations from God, they are demonstrating their lack of faith in God.
How can you know the right way to worship God? You do not have to study and compare the teachings of all the many religions. You need only learn what the Bible really teaches about true worship. To illustrate: In some countries, there is a problem with counterfeit money. If you were given the job of picking out such false money, how would you go about it? By memorizing every kind of counterfeit? No. Your time would be better spent if you studied real money. After you knew what real money looked like, you could recognize a counterfeit. Similarly, when we learn how to identify the true religion, we can recognize those religions that are false.
Many teachings, for instance, heaven and hell. The Bible actually shows that hell is the common grave of mankind and we all go there. Even Jesus Christ spent 3 days in hell. Hell is not a fiery place of torment.
Eternal life is shown to be here on earth when God has brought about the end of this wicked system of things.

Hey Peewit. Aren't you the same guy who asked the question? It looks to me like you are not asking an honest question. You are just setting us up to spred your religion.

We can learn the truth about God by examining his word the Bible. Jesus said concerning his fathers word, "Your word is truth." So if you want to learn the truth about God, compare what you have been taught about God and compare it to what his word the Bible teaches. Then pray for insight and wisdom to be able to understand his word. If you are sincere in wanting to know the truth and you search for it like a hidden treasure, God will reveal it to you. It may be good to right down a list of questions you want answers to. Then see which religion is able to answer those questions for you based on the scriptures.
To know what the true religion is, they must uphold requirements stated in the bible, which jesus set the perfect examnle of
1)uphold the sovereignty for which jesus died-his Fathers sovereignty. Matt 4:10
2)magnify and sanctify Gods name. Ex 6:2
3)should exalt Gods kingdom as the only solution for Gods problems. Dan 2:44
4)uphold the bible as Gods inspired word. 2 tim 3:16,17
5)have genuine love amungst its people and for others. John 13:34,35
6)nuetrality regarding political affairs of this world james 4:4
7) not partake in wars 2 cor 10:3-5
8)christian unity 1 cor 1:10
9)be spiritually and morally clean. 2 pet 3:14
10)pure teaching. John 4:23,24
All religions intend to teach the truth. All religions are supposed to be good and they teach us to believe in God, to live a moral and virtuous life. But religions have become misinterpreted, scriptures have been wrongly understood. Therefore, while all religions are good, we need to go beyond religion to something which is not religion, known as spirituality. We should not blindly accept what the religions or scriptures say. We have to ask questions and investigate if we want to realize God. God lives in the temple of our heart. Religions have good intentions, but unless we go beyond religion and we graduate in the university of spirituality, we will never realize the truth about God, and we will never be united with the Divine.
I agree that there is one true religion. Many people are so misled by the religious leaders that it is difficult for them to see through the dogmas of false doctrines. However, we can look forward to the day when all peoples will believe the same, when Isaiah's words at Chapter 48 verse 17 & 18 will be a reality.
