I will be attending an LDS church mainly for the sense of 'tradition' and 'culture' in my life. I'm not interested though in going through the endowment ceremony where the undergarments are presented. Can Mormons remain Mormons their whole lives without getting endowed?

There is a schedule and you are free to stop participating at any point. I was baptized at age 8 and ordained a deacon at age 14 and I simply didn't ever show up again. But if someone in your family updates your address every year, missionaries will call on you wherever you go, forever.
