I have been through a lot of mental stress and hurt which I have another “person” come in so I won't really have to deal with that situation again. I do have memory gaps but not of large amounts, I call it a coping mechanism cause I don’t want people to think I have something I may not have. So overall for example if something was too much for me to handle that’s where an “alter person” comes in. Sometimes I’d do remember, sometimes I don’t. I can go further into detail but I was hoping to make sure it was just a coping mechanism.
