Hell is a hole is a grave. Everybody goes there and there is no awareness. Under Roman law a person was not legally dead until he had been in the grave three days and three nights. So yes, Jesus went to hell/hole/grave for three days and three nights.
Church traditions say he died Friday and rose Sunday. That is only one day and two nights, or if you stretch it badly, three days and two nights. That is not enough to satisfy the law. Jesus died about sundown, so he rose about sundown. The empty grave was found Sunday morning, so he rose at sundown Saturday evening. Count back three days and three nights and you find he was crucified on a Wednesday. The holy day sabbath that year fell on a Thursday, in addition to the regular Sabbath on Saturday.
Yes, he did enter hell for 3 days after he died to meet with the devil in the purpose of announcing his victory. It was almost like Jesus' way of saying, "You know Satan, you did not win. I only got more powerful because of this, so in your face. You are going to lose big time". He also took some souls back with him. Before this incidents souls went to hell regardless of their faith or humanity. Heaven wasn't open to people until the death of Jesus. Jesus cleansed our sins and that was the events that took fold so it would happen. This was actually called The Harrowing of Hell. Adam was one of the souls taken up to Heaven at this point.
In Christian theology, the Harrowing of Hell is the triumphant descent of Christ into Hell between the time of his Crucifixion and his Resurrection when he brought salvation to all of the righteous who had died since the beginning of the world.
Roman Catholic is Christan. What fricocta nonsense book do you get your info from.
That is not Christian theology, it is Roman Catholic theology. No resemblance.
