Ok so I was giving blood on the Alex machine which separates plasma...I felt like I was going to pass out, the feeling of the blood leaving my veins kind if creeps me out by the way...next thing I know my vision was barely conscious; meaning that I could tell that my eyes were open but it was too blurry to make anything out, but I wasn't conscious enough to think, "what's happening right now"... I hope that makes sense so far...also It felt like I was taking short rapid breaths..these two characteristics are something I realized I was aware of afterwards, imedietaly after they threw cold water on me and I "came to"...this kid across from me looked freeked out by what he just saw me go through so I doubt that I just passed out and woke up...it felt like my body locked up and I was just staring forward taking rapid shallow breaths...the state of consciousness was almost like sleep paralysis...so my question is, what actually happened medically and what did I look like during ...by the way, after I came to I ate a slice of pizza, drank some apple juice and finished the donation without any problems...I proceeded to class and told everybody what happened...after it happened I wasn't "out of it" or tired or anything like that, I felt completely normal...so did I pass out? have a siezure? Go into shock?

Its possible that the donation you gave had a side effect that caused what you talked about sometimes we can have issues that noone else has i know some have gotten sick after donating your sugar could also have been low it could have effected you that way i think you had a reaction to donating.
There was never any doubt in my mind that what happened was directly related to me giving blood. I was more curious as to what actually happened, whether I passed out or went into shock or anything of that nature. I didn't black out because I've passed out from a combination of seeing my own blood and being dehydrated, but this time was completely different; that's why I was curious and provided as much detail as I could in hopes that someone would be able to pinpoint those symptoms as something normal or common, and be able to tell me exactly what happened. I know the why, I just want to know the what. Thank you for taking the time to reply though
