Despite an otherwise clear face, I seem to have an infection on the skin on one cheek of my face-?

... there is one large 'spot''- no yellow head, just redness and hard feeling underneath. It is large and very inflamed and unsightly. It has happened before in the same area, almost as if there is an infection there that never fully disappears. Will a dose of lymecycline twice daily get rid of the infection? And for how long should it be taken? Thank you
