Design - can personalization overtake customization in the future?

Yes, personalization can and will take over customization. People love to have things done their way without too much complication, it's human nature.

Customization is when you get in your car and change your radio stations from what your wife/husband when they were in the car. Personalization is when the car knows when you are in the car and not your partner, and then automatically sets the radio stations to your liking.

Customization takes time and work to get it just right, personalization is just there. You don't need to put much effort into it.
