The dentist my family's been going to for over three years in Texas, USA stopped taking insurance in May and didn't inform us so at the end of our combined appointments we were given a bill over $600 for checkups that used to be covered under our insurance. We were not told about him not taking insurance anymore until we asked why we were being charged. Is it legal for a dentist to treat a regular patient without telling them about the change in insurance acceptance?
