I really have no idea if i have put this in the right catagory. Sorry if not.
So i have just come back from a 2 weeks holiday in Greece, reason of the trip was my sister's wedding. I have two children so of course they came with me, which meant missing a week of school as the other week was during the school holidays. I had one of the parents text me to tell me i was going to be getting a fine, which is understandable and i knew that would be the outcome. What i am annoyed with, is that this teacher didn't just be over heard by the parent's child who told me, the teacher actually announced to the whole class that my daughter's parents would be getting this fine for my child being off school. Sure this is a breach of confidentiality? I am now also worried that she will be teased by other children as you know how children can be. She is aged 10. Am i right in saying that this is a breach and should be taken as seriously as i feel? Any advice would be fantastic!

I would go into the principals office or whatever they call them where you are at and tell them this is unacceptable. If they don't listen and understand that the teacher acted unprofessional from this teacher I would take it to some sort of media outlet. This may not be a breach of confidentiality but it is harmful to the child.
