A few weeks ago I ordered Cannibal Holocaust from JB Hi-Fi in Australia, I am concerned to whether this will be allowed into New Zealand (Where I am) Because ofit being Banned to distribute. I am using the film for Media Studies and Personal use, with no intent of publicizing the film. Will this film be allowed in, or could it be potentially seized? Thank you in advance!

if its banned in new zealand its very possible only if they inspect the package then they might seize it if they open it for inspection then if its banned the company that shipped it to you might be fined or other ending result could be just about anything and they could wanna talk to you if they figure out by the label it has going to you becareful cause you never know
There is zero possibility of you getting into trouble. The item may be seized if they decide to inspect the package in which case you will be notified and, usually, be able to claim back the cost from the posting company. To be fair the responsibility for import is on you rather than the sending company but that is a debatable fine point in law. Either way it's a wait and see situation. You may get it or you may not, personally given the amount of post that goes internationally the chances of it being caught are tiny unless the shipping details and contents are plainly marked.
To be honest, I don't know why you didn't just download the film, it's widely available on the torrents you know..? Anyhoo, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you as this is one area where I consider banned distribution simply insane.. if it's available in one civilised country why on earth can it not be available in another? It's not as if one country is more ethically/morally pure by virtue of what it bans!! grrrrr...
