The field of ecology is multi-disciplinary and ecological questions can be answered using several disciplines (fields) within biology. Drawing from this logic, consider that crows, having a worldwide distribution, are all black even though their environments vary widely. This is an ecological observation but could be asked, and answered, by many other disciplines within biology that could address this observation. Provide examples of 4 distinct disciplines within biology that could address this observation. Then for each discipline provide one question with an accompanying hypothesis and prediction (scientifically valid justification) that would address the observation that worldwide, crows are black in spite of their occurrence in very different environments.

First off, is this an educational question you're trying to get an answer to? Because that's cheating, haha!
But anyways, they are black because nature and evolution decided that they would be more successful if they were black. Genetic drift plays a part in their coloring, although not all species of crow is all black. Likely their coloring has to do with staying warm when it is cold outside. The color black absorbs all the colors of sunlight rather than reflecting them. Also, black is a very nice camouflage color, so in most environments they occupy, crows tend to blend in nicely. The black coloring may also be a way to easily identify species of the bird's own kind. Black is a pretty striking color.
Hope this helps! :)
