Yeah, there isn't a lot to understand here, it's typical speech babble.. basically what he/she is saying is the effort taken to graduate is central to what it means to be a graduate from that establishment. It's a classic example of speech writing that is elegantly meaningless yet uplifting. I bet he got a standing ovation for his bullsh*t...
