Hey Guys,
I own an O3ds and would like to hardmod it. In order to do so, I need to solder some wires to the circuit board. I'm afraid I might break something and was wondering if I could tape the wires to the board, do my software stuff and be done.

I'm no expect with this, but I do my own circuit stuff when needed.
*The short answer is: No.
*The complicated answer is: Yes, but probably not the best thing in the long run.
Firstly, if you wanted to use tape, it would have to be an insulating tape. (Normal clear tape is not a good choice as it (to my knowledge) does not insulate, and also melts VERY easy.
Secondly, for short term connections you could always use a heat resistant, insulating putty. (The closest I've done to this is using simple Prestik, but Prestik is not a good idea and I have only done this with low current wires and only when testing various wire connection combinations - removing them after testing and using proper insulated joining as needed. If you want to go this route you would need a proper insulating putty if you can find something like that.)
Thirdly, another option would be a heat resistant, insulating bonding glue. But make sure when gluing that you don't get glue between the circuit board and your wires and make sure the bonding agent is non-acidic.
Lastly though, your best bet would be the solder and iron as every other method listed here is not as good as a strong soldered joint and will not last as long, nor give you the best current flow connection.
