Could a man in normal health survive a fall from 30 stories up if he fell into a van that was in motion and full of 10 used mattresses? and if he did, is it possible that he went thru the roof of the van, thru the mattresses stored inside and then thru the bottom of the van landing into the pavement... and survived.
In my scenario, he breaks every bone in his body and suffers severe internal injuries, is in and out of consciousness for several days, slips into a coma for two weeks and then expires... is any of that realistic?

Almost nothing goes through the roof or the floor unless it is designed specifically to puncture things. If he did manage to get all the way to the pavement he would then be dragged some distance. But if you are writing a story, anything can happen depending only on your story telling skills.
Do you think, if he made it thru a severely rusted roof or sunroof and hit the mattresses, is it feasible that he would make it thru 9 and embed in the 10th?
My story TELLING skills are still being worked on,lol. I have the story thinking up part down pretty good tho. I've written a decent story, I'm now trying to center it in the real as much as possible. That will balance out the unrealistic parts, like a guy getting thrown out of a hotel window 30 stories up and hitting a van that just happened to have 10 mattresses in and then living long enough to finish telling his story, including how it came to be that he was thrown out the window.
You need to read novels. Lots of novels. Any novels. Notice that they all have perfect spelling, perfect punctuation, perfect composition. Notice where they use one space and where they use two. Notice that every speaker in a dialog gets a new paragraph, and every paragraph is preceded by a blank line. Notice any writing techniques or figures of speech. Take notes so you know where you found what you know. It takes a lot of reading to be a writer.
Speaking of mattresses, you should consider that a woven cloth is quite unlikely to let a falling man break through. A cannonball of the same weight might break through one mattress. A 45 caliber bullet would go through three, with luck. The steel roof of a vehicle is actually pretty good at cushioning a fall, and several people have survived that experience.
You should of see the piece a month ago. I haven't written much since college, years ago, and I've never tried my hand at writing anything more than an article or promo piece.
It's always in the little details that seem to get ya.
The idea of the van with the mattresses was to give the guy a chance to live but most likely die later from the fall. Truth is, in the story he has terminal cancer that is in a short state of remission. Like deadpool before he 'became', only mine doesn't have superheroes.
Thank you very much. Believe it or not, this answer was very helpful. I will design the van so that it has a rusted out roof (or possibly a sunroof) and floorboard equally as rusted. I have described it as an old hippie van. I'm a beginning writer so any help is greatly appreciated.
