Concerts?

Question

Do you prefer attending a live concert, instead of hearing music on your own? if so, why? How is the experience different, or better or worse?

What do you consider to be the pros and cons of attending a concert/festival? Have you found any inconveniences? 

What types of concerts do you like attending? Such as Festivals? Arenas? Venus? Raves? Others?

Have you ever had a bad experience at a concert? if so, would you like to share it?

How do you prepare before a concert? What are your concert essentials? Flashlight? iPhone? Charger? Bottle of Water? Lighter? Camera? Pepper spray? etc.

I love live shows. 
It's way different than just sitting at home with headphones in. It's more real and alive when you're actually at the show. 
There are many pros to attending concerts and festivals, you get to see the band in person, you get to go out and burn some energy and have fun, and you're surrounded by people who love the same music as you. So many potential friendships. There are also cons, large shows sometimes being expensive, not being able to see if you're in general admission and get there late, some not so nice people, but I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
I love attending all types of concerts. They all provide different experiences. Large festivals are fun to discover new bands, while arenas allow more technical things to be done with the show, and small local shows being a lot more intimate. 
I've had a few bad things happen at concerts, a few not nice people, but nothing too major. 
My concert essentials are just comfortable clothes and shoes (not flip flops!) money for merch and my phone just in case anything happens and maybe to take a picture or two, not too many pictures though. 
I love live music, and I think concerts are really fun experiences and I would choose going to a concert rather than just listening on my own any day.
