A virus protection program got into our computer (we are unsure how) and it will not allow us to operate our PC unless we buy it for $50. It comes under the name of "Platinum antivir.com. Any suggestions?

My husband just found out that it also is coming under the name of Antivirus live inc. They are asking for a credit card to pay them the $50 to free up the computer.
