I've recently quit a job that added me to their cell phone plan when I first came on with them, which was a year ago. I never signed anything, nor did I even speak with an ATT person when my manager ordered the line & phone for me. Now, my new employer is offering me a company phone so I do not need this one anyways. I told them to either take it back or cancel it. They said they wouldn't be able to do that, and I would have to call ATT to transfer ownership of the line and financial responsibility. Which means I'd then be responsible for a $300 early termination fee. Is this my responsibility, or is it theirs, since I'm not the one that signed a 2 year agreement?

they should be taking it back if i was you i would ask the new employer to transfer the telephone number to the one you have that way you could get out of the 300 dollar early termination fee if they use the one you have it would work out for you and them i would look at it that way
