I live in California and was admitted twice, at the age of 16 and 21 for failed suicide attempts.
I checked myself in voluntarily both times admitting I failed to kill myself and wanted help.
No Police Were Involved Whatsoever. My mother admitted me at 16 upon my own request.
Now I've discovered that both times were considered involuntary. This shouldn't be the case. What legal recourse do I have?
I only ask because I want to buy a recurve bow and get a hunting license.
I have no desire to get a firearm. I signed a document that won't allow me to own a firearm for five years at both ages so I won't be able to own one until 26 and even then I'm sure I'll be denied for my mental diagnosis and history.
I just want to become a self-sufficient survivalist. Any input is appreciated.
