I have Windows 10 and I am trying to use the "shutdown /i" command. Every time I enter a hostname other than my own computer's it denies me access even when I run it as an admin. Any suggestions?

Yes, I have a suggestion. If your Windows 10 is valid, and not an OEM copy then you should either contact Microsoft via email support or call them. You can even post such questions on their site, just google "Microsoft Help" or "Microsoft Questions", or "Microsoft FAQ". Its always best to ask them directly being it is their OS.
You can also use other search terms in Google to find an answer to your question like "CMD Shutdown Commands", "CMD Command Prompt Help", and so on. Believe it or not a lot of other people have most likely had that same problem, but because I have never had need to remote anything, that's out of my help line.
I think a call to Microsoft is your best option, so long as your copy is valid.
