The non custodial parent wasn't paying at the time I was under the program. The amount I got from welfare was totaling 14,000. Non custodial parent stepped up and started paying 2008 to present (2016). The total amount he paid to date is over 26,000. The state General Attorney's Office says I waived my rights to the AG's so I can't claim the remaining after welfare has been paid back which leaves a big balance that they say I can't claim. The remaining balance will go to the State and Federal to split amongst each other. Under the Federal Law I've read that they have the right to hold all arrears to repay welfare back. Okay welfare is paid now why would the state take all of my children's money if he paid the federal back?
