My child is really smart and very supportive in any task i am doing at home. He hates to study and I think has a problem writing. He scores well when he is verbally answering questions but fails when he has to write. I cant get him to sit and study for even 10 minutes. I think he at-least needs to finish his basic education and then maybe i can check if i can make him a chef or something which i hope does not require that much studies. Do we have any schools who focus on other things than academics?

Does 7th std mean grade seven (13 years old)?
If so, there is pleanty of time to help your boy learn how to learn.
Different people learn in different ways. (google learning styles). The western education system is only set up for the majority (verbal/linguistic), with little or no support for anyone else, no matter how inteligent they are. With all due respect, I suggest you try to help him find the method that is best for him. A sound education will give him many more choices in life. It is very diffficult when the system fails.
If he is having trouble writing, could there be something wrong with his eyes? Straining to see can make a person feel anxious and irratable, without them realising why.
Is there a topic that he is particularly interested in? If you encourage him to read about something he is passionate about, it can encourage him to develop his literacy skills in general.
Teaching him to make goals, and reward himself when he if successful may also help.
