ive had it for 1 month and 1 week, i knw its very early to change it right now. my mothers friend offered to change it out for me even though i was going to drive to my piercer. she soaked my jewelry in cleansing alcohol and then rinsed it with water. she put vaseline on the tip to "make it slide in easier". didnt hurt taking my piercing out or putting the new jewelry in. but later on it started to hurt to move around or to sit/bend. i cleaned it today a while ago by putting natural sea salt in a shot glass and filling it with warm water and putting it over my belly button and jewelry for 10 minutes. after that i got some water on a q-tip and wiped it around the ball and barbell. there was a slightly dark yellow colored pus on the q-tip and i got worried i might be infected. please help me

Pus is natures way of telling you that you have an infection. (It's dead bad guy bacteria and good guy white blood cells.) Clean out with astringent (rubbing alcohol/witch hazel/hydrogen peroxide etc) Then cover with antibiotic ointment.
You might want to let it heal up. I bet your belly button is cute without a hole it.
