okay so I am 18 and still living with my mother,i live in the granny flat and I have worked for the past 4years to pay for everything i need too and its been grate but i resently have lost my job and with formal and graduation coming i have bills and school fees to pay. i asked my mother about going on centrlink and he said i will have to start paing rent,power bills and food money if i do that. i looked at the site for youth allowence and new start and it says about rent and all of that does paying to my mother count? all up i will have to pay like $100 or more a fourtnight or week to her and that leaves me with nothing if i get the standered $250 it says. i need help please. ive never claimed for it or anything like this. ive always worked to earn my money and i dont know how this works.

P.s my mother says its not worth it cause i wont get enough money.
