CC Cleaner Drive Wiper?

Question

I run CC drive wiper to remove the deleted files on my hard drive,i choose 7 passes,I was not able to finish it, only 20-40%,was CC cleaner able to pass it even once? I saw some comments that 1 pass is enough. Can anyone please help me out? I sold my hard drive and it is freaking me out cause some personal files is there.

People who investigate such things tell us that they can read at least twenty files written and overwritten in the same space. They say the only way to be sure a hard drive is unreadable is to burn it or smash it. Your files are safe only because nobody wants them.
