I got a letter in the mail saying i owe almost $150 to att... I recently filed a complaint with BBB for att for my mother,but had nothing there in my name. And everything we had with them was paid off. The letter said nothing about what exactly money was owed for or anything. It didnt say if it was for phone, internet, no date. Nothing. I thought not only does this sound weird for me to get a bill for something i dont have but it doesnt even say what the bill is for or anything. So i called the number and they asked my last 4 digits of Social security, i told them they said they got wrong person. And they will change adress. However they wouldnt provide any information about anything. So i started thinking this is a scam... also it says "if you think you are a victim of i.d. theft please call..." i have never seen that on a bill before. So i look up to find other people having it happen and that its a scam been going on atleast 5 years. I am carious to know.....
How did they get my information?
How are they running this place? What are they? Is this legal?
more importantly, Im concerned bcause i gave them last 4 of my social security
