On the advice of the vet and other cat experts, I'm switching Furlana (age 8) from chow to canned food. She won't touch pate', and most online wet cat food sites give no idea what consistency the foods are. How can I determine whether or not a particular food is pate'?

Go to catinfo.org and download the canned food analysis. Print it and carry it to the store with you. Each variety is clearly labeled "pate" if that's what it is. In my experience, all cats prefer the dry food, even though the site says any canned food is better than any dry food.
