I found a few orangedog caterpillars on my lemon tree and removed them and sprayed the tree with natural pesticides because my tree was too small to support all of them. I tried to raise them, but all but one died the next day and I'm not sure why. I offered the last one leaves from a wild lime tree but he won't eat them. He seems healthy and I really don't want him to die, but I don't have any other food to give him except leaves off of my mandarin orange tree or lemon tree and both have been sprayed with pesticides. Would it be safe to wash the leaves and then give it to him, or would that still kill him?
Can you wash pesticides off leaves to make them safe for caterpillars?
