Is it possible to train your body and mind to sleep for a long time (say, a week) and then stay awake for the same amount of time?

I think it would be possible with a lot of practice, but i wouldn't recommend it if it is. Your body needs sleep. Even if you train to make it possible, you will still be exhausted when you do not sleep and you body will become weak when you do not move. In the end you won't have any benefits from it.
