V6 front wheel drive w/16 inch rims

for the Ford Escape V6s before 2008 the default tire sizes are: 225 70 R15 100 T and
235 70 R16 104 T - it is possible to put the 215/60R16 on it, but depending on local regulation it might be not allowed to.
with the 215/60R16 you will have compared to the 235/70R16s a change on ground clearance of -3.5 cm (car gets lower), the rolling circumference calculation differs -9.7%, what means, you'll have a speed deviation of +10.7%, if the speedometer displays 50 miles per hour, you drive over 55 miles and its a deviation of over 10,something % and 10 % is allowed.
it would be much better if you have 15 " wheels now, as compared to them the change on ground clearance is -1,6 cm (car onle gets lower a tiny little bit), the rolling circumference calculation only differs -4,5 %, what means, you'll have a speed deviation of only 4,8 %, within the tolerance.
Anyway, if I was you, I would do it
