What if all the memory we have is fake? Would it matter if it is?

It's a good question. There is a lot of evidence that the world has existed at least 4.5 billion years (i.e. that's the age of the oldest rock found) but proof? Not really. I don't think you can prove things like that. What if we're all part of some shared delusion? What if nobody exists but me and everything I experience (including other people) is my imagination?
Then creating a paradox that contradicts the world's logic might be just enough to see what's outiside. Easier said than done, of course.
