Ok, so there's this guy, he's not popular or arrogant, if anything he's kinda shy. Anyways, I have a little thing for this guy. I have no reason to be shy around him; he's friends with a group of guys who I sometimes converse with and he seems like the type of guy to not want to hurt anyones feelings and let them down slowly. I feel fairly self confident and I dont really care what other people think of me yet I completely freeze up. First, my heart starts pounding and then I can feel my face turn red. I don't know what to do. His locker is right by mine yet I've barely even said a sentence to him and even that took alot of encouragement from my friends. I have tried saying something to him before but nothing comes out of my mouth and then my face turns red and I look away. Please give me advice on what to do! I swears I have a high self esteem, I'm just really shy around only him.

Your problem is in a lower conscious level of involvement. You need to force your self to talk to him. When you see him again, tell him your feelings for him right away. That's the part that's confusing you. You have so much to say to him, your mind can't concentrate on everything at once and you end up saying nothing.
Begin by talking to him in a group, as the fact that being around his and your friends is often very comfortable. You also won't be singled out. If you guys are talking, do not let it become an awkward silence. If so, say "so I guess this is an awkward silence. You then have immediately say something that is conversable, otherwise you'll lose the chatter.
Hope I helped
