At one time a cartoon was the only way to print a picture, so cartoons have existed as long as the printing press. But I assume you mean the movie format. Next, you need to define what you call a "kid's" cartoon, since a lot of cartoons were made specifically for adults and some specifically for soldiers. That reduces the topic to a guess of a dozen or so per week: 5,200 dozens in a century. Most of those have been totally forgotten.
