Can you ask a workplace if a certain person works there?

you can try and ask the reception, i'm not sure if they will give you that information, but you can certainly try...I mean, it really depends on the workplace. Also it'd be really helpful if you would respond to my question. (it should be on my profile) Thank you.

You don't go there, you call. Ask for the HR department and tell them you want to confirm employment. That happens all the time, so you don't need to explain anything. They will only tell you the date of hiring and job title.
