wavelength can also be defined as the no of waves passing through a particle when it completes one oscillation. Time period and frequency are inter related. since velocity = wavelength/time period. So shouldn't a change in velocity or wavelength bring a change in frequency ? Please Explain

Speed of sound in a string is based on length and mass/length ratio. When you tune a guitar, the length is fixed and the mass is fixed. The wavelength is the distance from bridge to nut. When you change the tension of the string you are changing the speed of sound and therefore the frequency. In an organ you change the length of the pipe while everything else remains the same. A tuning fork is tuned by changing the mass.
