My mail carrier was attacked by a dog a year ago. As a result she won't deliver any package that's too big for the mailbox to any house that has a dog.
It doesn't matter if the dog is behind a fence in the back yard, or in my case, INSIDE my house with the front door locked. That's right, INSIDE the house. If she hears barking she wont even come up the driveway. Just puts a slip in the mailbox saying she tried to deliver a package but I wasn't home.
Which is a lie - I'm home. Complained to the Moreno Valley Ca. postmaster several times, but was told "She doesn't have to put herself in any situation that she considers a threat."
The SOUND of barking is a threat???
But I not only have to wait 2 more days to go pick up my packages at the post office, but I have to take time off work to do it, plus there's the gas!
how can a mail carrier get away with not delivering packages simply because she HEARS barking? (she has never SEEN my dogs)
What can be done about this?
