Almost nothing is known about Mesopotamia. The name means "between rivers". The rivers are Tigris and Euphrates. There were about 2,000 cities there and they are poorly studied because it is a war zone in modern times.
There is only slightly more information about early Egypt. For example, we have three lists of kings, but the names are not in the same order. There is about a five hundred year discrepancy in syncing Egyptian history with histories of surrounding areas.
All in all, there is very little reliable evidence available.
