I have searched all over the internet. I downloaded many, many programs. but none have suceeded. If anyone can find a program the opens .put files. I REPEAT. .Put files, i will be forever grateful.

The .put file extension is an old compressed file archive, often used for storing projects especially videos directly off cameras.
I have found 2 programmes for you to try but both viewers.
Universal Viewer Pro This comes as a 15 day trial but there is a free version which might work so try that 1st. This programme is available for download from reputable sites such as softpedia, ZDNET & CNet as well as their own site. With this in mind I would go to this one 1st for saftey.
File View Pro. This programme mentions .put & also comes in free & Pro versions. I cannot find many different sites to download other than their own site.
Hope this helps, but be sure to scan with your upto date Anti Virus & Spy ware programmes before installing, & if your really good make a back up image of your hard drive 1st so you can quickly put things back as they were! (paragon do a superb free back up program originaly called "Backup & recovery 2013 free" which we all should do religiously as data preservation is the most important thing we should practice as hard drives die & viruses infect without warning!)
