I've been suffering from anxiety for about 7 months now, thought it was because of drinking alcohol so I went cold turkey and felt amazing. But now I am working night shift and only sleeping 3-4 hrs a day and my anxiety is back can this be the trigger point?

Quick answer, yes. Of course this is a vicious circle as the more anxious you are about your sleeping, the harder it is to do!
Most people need 8hrs good quality sleep per night, without which effects both our mental and our physical well being (For more info Google "side effects of poor sleep", the NHS site is very good)
To get that sleep try:
1. Regular bed times,
2. No stimulents like coffee & tea before bed.
3. Stay off the Computer or TV close to bed, not only to chill but because the type of light these screens use, has been proven to prevent the brain releasing melatonin that makes you feel sleepy.
4. If you feel sleepy during the evening, go to bed, ( your brain has peaked at releasing melatoning, you will become over tired & find sleep harder.
5. The bedroom should be for sleeping only, remove, cover over things like TVs ect so your mind trains it self into a habit.
6. You must find a way to relax to detach yourself from your worries. Sport is good, anything that demands your whole attention.
This is only a start for you, hope this helps you off .
