I just got my 3rd tattoo on 3/31/18. The shop I went to had completed my previous tattoo and I loved it. This time around though, it was a fairly new artist, (9 months experience), but her work looked good. I watched her tattoo the person ahead of me and she did great. When she drew mine up (stencil) it looked great. However, I messed up by answering "just black" when she asked me if I wanted color. I was not thinking about the shading. So, I have this cross with a heart in the middle and a paw print in the upper corner of the heart. Then, I have my dogs names around it. The problem is that since I said "just black", not only is the outlining black, but the shading is also in black and looks very blotchy. The shading around paw print is so heavy, that you can barely make out the paw print. Can any of this be fixed? If I wait until it fades out, would be easier to fix? I have been told that black shading is not repairable...especially if it's heavy. Thanks!

Well, I don't know much about getting tattoos since I'm not one who is okay with them, but... I know one thing that could work, though it would be costly. You know those tat-removal services? You could have sessions where they remove or lighten part of the tattoo, then when that is finally done (takes a while), you could return to the artist and have them fix it to how you like.
I am unsure if you could just add more ink to change it, so that's my answer.
