Leopards can purr but lions cannot. So if you mix them would the result be capable of purring?

Huh, interesting question!
Since I'm not a zoologist I cannot give you a definite answer but here are parts you should consider:
1) The corresponding gender on either species can give different results.
2) Perhaps it would purr while it's a kitten?
Genetics is very complex and is not simple inheritance so I'm not sure if you can find the answer elsewhere...
