Can jobs save Detroit?

Hello all!

I am only a high school senior but I have been thinking about Detroit's high crime rate and what we can do to help solve this national issue. 

Since President Trump is all about businesses, jobs, and putting America first, why not put more jobs where people need it most? Detroit's unemployment rate in 2015 was over 10%. 

I believe if we can somehow put more businesses here and hire more local people, the crime rate might decrease! Am I on the right track or should I rethink some things?

I think you are on the right track but not all jobs will help stop the crime rate. For example if you have more people being bakers or teachers that is going to do nothing at all to stop the crime rate but if you put more jobs as police officers or security jobs then yes that will help the crime rate. Although if you solve the crime rate by getting more security people and officers then there will be more people wanting to get jobs there.
