Can I use the word "solid" in the phrase "solid paper" against electronic books?

I guess you can, but I can't imagine any reason why you would want to. There must be a better way to emphasize the difference. I would say something more colorful, like "It's ok to watch a movie on a computer, but watching a book just doesn't stir the emotions."
