Can I use black vinegar instead of white to clean my coffee maker?

I never heard of black vinegar. You should throw that out and get some clean product. It is called white vinegar because it is not brown like cider vinegar.

I never had good results trying to clean a coffee cup or filter basket with vinegar. I soak them overnight in ammonia. That works really well on electric stove burners too. Use a plastic bag to hold the smell in.
