Can I trickle charge an AGM battery directly with 12v socket Solar Charger or is regulator needed?

I got a 12v 1,2AH AGM battery and a 12v Solar Trickle Charger for car batteries (12v cigaret socket). Or should I put a Solar Charge Regulator in between to protect the AGM battery?

Are the panels reverse flow protected to prevent discharge, if not a regulator might have the diodes installed to do this. It is unlikely you are going to overcharge due to the limited panel output & intermitent charging of the solar panels.
