I'm trying to figure out if I tried to rejoin the marine corps would they let me. The reason I ask is cause I was specially court marshalled about a year before I got discharged. They found me guilty but only sentenced me to hard labor without brig time or anything. By hard labor I mean I had to clean the battalion for 2 months for three hours everyday except on Sundays and holidays and I was not restricted to the barracks either. They also tried to administratively separate me but they found me to be a asset to the company and my platoon. They let me stay in to finish my enlistment with a honorable discharge with all my benefits.
So does anyone know if I would be able to join again after I finished college in 2 more years?
Also sorry for the long explanation.
Without any direct knowlege I'd agreee with Ssgt Daigle. With the honorable discharge it should be very possible as it simply costs to much to train a new marine. If there is a policy against you they may still let you in on a 'waiver'. Back in my day, for example, a marine who was too short could often get in with a waiver. I would assume it's also dependent on how much they need you as Ssgt Daigle says. First thing I would do is schedule a visit to your local recruiter and they'll should be able to let you know your prospects quickly.
Other options to consider is moving to another branch that may need your MOS.
