So what I thought was a certified copy of my birth certificate from Texas ends up not being such. 23 years and just being told this! I was applying for a passport and it got denied for this reason. So, since I was planning on going to Canada shortly I'm in a bit of a pickle. I can't personally go to Texas and I can't wait the 10-15 business days that the website claims that it'll take to receive my birth certificate. So I'm wondering if I can hire a company, lawyer, etc to personally pick up the birth certificate and have it over nighted to me similar to some visa processing companies.
