I have a sony Surround sound system that I no longer use and would like to figure out how to replace my car stereo with it. I know very little about how to set up car stereos or how to gain the right power settings where I wouldnt drain my cars battery. Any suggestions or instructions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Bryan
Can I connect my home surround sound System into my car?

I advise against doing this; home audio equipment is not built as tough as car audio. You may end up overheating a 200 receiver when you could have bought a $50 car amp. That being said, if you want to then its possible, but you will need some things. First off, you need a dc to ax converter. Anything more than 300w should e good. Get one that hooks to battery terminals, not a cigarette lighter one. You also should plan where you're gonna put each speaker, leaving home theater speakers hanging from your car roof would look tacky and be unsafe. Maybe hide them under the seats? It'd be best to get them in the doors. To hook
Up your iPod you'd need to do some custom RCA hookup, if your car doesn't have an aux cord you can't run both stereos at the same time. Hookin into the radio would be a job for a shop that has proper tools. then at this point you should be able to figure out what kind of setup you want
