I was hoping to make the typed letters stand out but I don't know if or how I can change the color of the typed letters, is it possible?

Colour, apparently not without root access.
Size, possibly - depends on the os version more than the hardware. Try settings -> display -> system font. Still, some apps may elect to ignore defaults.
