I have amblyopia in my left eye (its not noticeable, like my eye doesn't move) My right eye vision is perfectly normal 20/20, my left eye is like 20/100ish I think. It doesn't really effect my normal vision, I can read signs, books I have my license etc. Is this a disqualifier for being a Police Officer?
Can I be a cop if I have amblyopia (Lazy Eye)?

note * im also a black belt, so my vision hasn't affected my ability to do sports. I do wear a contact in my left eye as well which helps quite a bit, but still doesn't make it perfect.

When I applied to the Academy, I was told vision had to be 20/20 uncorrected. You can, by all means, wear contacts or glasses, so long as your vision is never blurred or otherwise affected.
You'll have to be able to pass a vision test upon applying.
You'd be surprised at the amount of people that actually have a lazy eye on any given police force. Once again, so long as it doesn't affect your vision, you should be good to go.
Feel free to message me if you have any further questions on becoming a police officer.
Some of those questions are difficult, even with perfect vision.
yeah true I guess. :) thanks!
cool thanks. It doesn't affect my normal vision like on a day to day basis. I just always fail those tests with the "which one is clearer a or b" when looking through only my left eye. Otherwise, with both eyes open I have 20/20 vision :)
